Elk and Moose Hunting

Bow - September 2007

Following a 2-hour drive from Kamiah, clients and their gear will arrive at our upper camp which is located right in the heart of our operating area.

Weitas Creek Outfitters offers an 8-day, Rifle Elk/Deer/Bear Hunt that includes:

  • A pack-in day
  • 6 full days of hunting
  • A pack-out day

We also offer a 10 or 12-day, Archery Elk/Deer/Bear Hunt that includes:

  • A pack-in day
  • 8 or 10 full days of hunting
  • A pack-out day
This allows our guides and clients added opportunity to locate and collect trophy bulls.

We manage our Elk area for trophy bulls, taking a very limited number of hunters per year - only eight archery hunters and just six rifle hunters.

Weitas Creek Outfitters allows the harvest of mature 6-point-type bulls only.

Deer, Bear or Cougar may also be taken during your Elk hunt. An applicable tag charge will apply; however, there will be no additional charges by Weitas Creek Outfitters.

NOTE: Moose hunting is a "Controlled Hunt" only. You must apply with Idaho Fish & Game either online (http://fishandgame.idaho.gov) or by telephone for a Moose Tag from April 1 through April 30.

Elk Hunt
ARCHERY:  HUNT #1 - Aug. 29 - Sept. 7 *$3,500/hunter
  Maximum of 4 hunters in camp.
     
  HUNT #2 - Sept. 8 - Sept. 17 *$3,500/hunter
  Maximum of 4 hunters in camp.
     
  HUNT #3 - Sept. 19 - Sept. 30 *$4,000/hunter

RIFLE:  HUNT #1 - Oct. 9 - Oct. 18 *$4,000/hunter

  HUNT #2 - Oct. 19 - Oct. 26 *$4,000/hunter

*Prices are "per person" and do not include license, tags and applicable fees.

SEMI-GUIDED ARCHERY OR RIFLE HUNT
$2,600 / Hunter
Does not include license, tags and applicable fees.

Stay in one of our deluxe camps. We provide food and the camp cook. We will ride you out each morning to specific hunting areas and we will pick you up in the evening.

DROP CAMPS
$2,200 per person ~ 2 person minimum
Does not include license, tags and applicable fees.

Weitas Creek Outfitters also offers Drop Camps for up to 10 days (September through October). We supply wall tents, cots, heating/cooking stove, pots and pans, etc. (we do not supply food, sleeping bags and personal gear.) Weitas Creek Outfitters will also pack your elk out for you.
